Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Why is my Lat/Long output slightly off compared to Google Maps?
Google Maps uses a specific projection called Web Mercator (EPSG:3857) but displays coordinates in WGS84 (EPSG:4326). If you are integrating with GIS software spanning different datums (like NAD27), you must apply a specific mathematical datum shift. Our converter defaults to pure mathematical WGS84 for MGRS and UTM mappings.
How large can my CSV file be?
Our native client-side engine is highly optimized. We consistently test with files up to 50,000 rows without crashing modern browsers. Since the data never uploads to a server, the only limit is your device's available local RAM.
My coordinate was auto-detected incorrectly.
The Universal Geo Engine instantly scans your input formatting. If it fails, please check for rogue characters like tabs, misaligned comma separators, or missing letters in MGRS inputs. Ensure Lat/Longs do not contain letters like "N" and "W" if using strict decimal format.
