Field errors are expensive to fix in the office. These operational checklists ensure your crew captures precision data correctly the first time.
Pre-Deployment: The Geodetic Audit
Verify the project datum (NAD83, WGS84, or Local). Check the vertical datum (NAVD88 vs NGVD29). Ensure the controller units match the plan units (Survey Feet vs International Feet).
In-Field: The Real-Time Validation
Perform a 3-point check on known control points. Compare RTK results against static control. Document atmospheric conditions if using optical instruments.
Post-Field: The Integrity Sync
Review the CSV output for coordinate truncation. Validate that the transformation matches the required EPSG code.
